PVC Foamex is an extruded rigid PVC, closed cell foam sheet with a smooth surface finish.
PVC Foam is an economical, versatile and lightweight material. It has a smooth matt silk finish and high impact resistance. It will not rot or swell like timber and can be easily drilled. Ideal for simple one colour directional sign to a full colour photo realistic image.
Available in 3mm, 5mm and 10mm thickness.
Foamex signs are popular for exhibition panels, store displays, information boards, for sale signs, event signage, and hoardings.

Top quality signage, inexpensive price
Foamex signs are a great form of rigid signage that don’t cost the earth. Printed at up to 1,440DPI with solvent waterproof inks for all-weather protection they look great indoors or out and will remain vibrant for many years.
Foamex is a composite foam material, often called Foam PVC or Foam Board PVC. It’s solid but lightweight and available in three thicknesses – 3mm, 5mm and 10mm. 3mm foamex is best used for internal walls and cladding as it is too flexible for a large signs. 5mm is our most popular thickness as it can be used for a variety of signs. 10mm is perfect when extra rigidity is required.
Our foamex signs are printed onto to vinyl and then applied to the board. They are fully weather-proof for outdoor use and they are laminated in either gloss or matt to make the print extra scratch resistance and increase the UV protection.

We offer a FREE design service with all our products. Simply place your order and then email info@myvinylfrontier.com the details you would like included on the designs. Please include your order number.
If you are supplying your artwork, please either upload your files to our site or email info@myvinylfrontier.com. For files above 8MB, please send to us via wetransfer.com. Please follow the guidelines below when submitting your artwork:
PDF Files
We request all our artwork to be supplied as high resolution (300dpi) using these options:
- Resolution – Choose High Resolution
- Compression Settings – For colour and greyscale this should be down sampled to 300dpi with “auto compression” set on high
- Font Embedding – Should be set to “embed all fonts”
Colour needs to be set as CMYK not RGB (RGB artwork will be converted to CMYK and this could affect your colours).
Illustrator
Include all embedded images and convert all text to curves. Save as an EPS file.
Photoshop
Set Resolution to 300dpi when starting your new document. Save file as either TIFF or JPEG.
Other files not listed above must be saved either as a EPS or JPEG.
Please note: If you need us to make changes to your file (JPEG / EPS), we will require you to re-supply new artwork as either a PSD, PDF or AI file as we are unable to make changes to flattened images (JPEG / EPS / TIFF).
Indesign
Please ensure all fonts and pictures used in your artwork are supplied to us in a separate folder using the “package” function under the “file” menu. Compress the document using Stuffit or WinZip before uploading or sending your order via e-mail.
Please include a PDF. This is for our reference to make sure that nothing is missing or moved on the artwork supplied. Please note that this will be proofed first and could cause a longer delivery time.
Artwork Bleed
It is essential that there is a minimum 3mm bleed around your artwork. This is for cutting purposes. Please note that there is a 2mm tolerance for cutting on all jobs.
Please ensure that the colour is set to CMYK not RGB.
Microsoft Documents
We cannot use the following formats for printing:
- Word
- Excel
- Powerpoint
- Publisher
- Works
Below is a link to a website that can convert any of the above files into a useable PDF, it is easy-to-use and will do it for you right there online. IT’S FREE!
Please supply a screen shot of your Microsoft document before conversion this can be done by the following:
- PC operators – There is a “PRINT SCREEN” button on the keyboard
- Mac operators – Press the “Apple” and “Shift 4” keys, then highlight the area you wish to copy. This saves a PNG copy to your desktop
